Purpose This paper explores the indigenous climate knowledge (ICK) of Gwadar fishing community in Pakistan. The main purpose this is to explore accuracy ICK and how climatic change brings changes it social lives local fishers. Design/methodology/approach Qualitative research methods, including participant observation, in-depth interviews oral histories, were used collect data. Findings Finding from long fieldwork shows that has a harmonious relationship with nature ecology. Their ecology enables them have equal access natural resources, sustainable resource management, disaster risk reduction strong organization on coast Gwadar. Recently their deep sociocultural been disturbed due huge caused by human manipulation environment. ability foresee events reduced. They are finding impossible estimate fish availability massive changes. Local communities losing traditional livelihoods socioeconomic autonomy as result growing change. Climatic adds existing poverty situation increases political instability region. Practical implications study suggests using fishermen’s valuable ecology, its ties traditions, culture management for scientific understanding marine Gwadar, Originality/value an ethnographic based term field work.
